Words as Sound World

  • Broadside Studios 123 Allison Street Glasgow, Scotland, G42 8NE United Kingdom (map)

Words as Sound World is an interactive workshop exploring processes for writing that go beyond the page.

Drawing from examples, we will generate words and writing using guided prompts. After a short break, we will then use this material and move beyond the page in order to create a multitude of sound-scapes using simple and readily available methods.

No prior writing experience is required, nor is any experience making sound-scapes. This workshop is for anyone with an interest in interdisciplinary writing.

Rosie’s Disobedient Press works at the intersection of visual art and writing to explore publishing as an expanded practice to generate moving-image and sound works, events and workshops as well as more traditional publishing projects.

The theme and title for this workshop was inspired by Trinh T. Minh-Ha’s essay Beware of Wolf Intervals.

This event is part of Glasgow Zine Fest 2024.
