Starting with this 24-page introductory zine, Georgia Webber joins Dr. Aby Watson in adapting her doctoral thesis into comics, adding personal colour and visual life to critical neurodivergence in dance theory. Newfoundland-based comics artist Georgia Webber will join us online for this hybrid event, featuring a comics reading, the artists in conversation, and light refreshments, with zines and posters for sale. Come together with us in a relaxed environment to celebrate neuro-affirming artistry across abilities, disciplines, and continents.

About the facilitators:
Dr. Aby Watson [she/they] is a neuroqueer artist, choreographer, performer and academic, shifting fluidly across contemporary performance and knowledge exchange, with a focus on radical neurodiversity. Working nationally and internationally, she’s toured her creative work to Inter-University Centre for Dance Berlin, Blackwood Gallery Toronto, The Southbank Centre, and Tramway, among others.
Georgia Webber [she/her] is a neuroqueer crip comics artist and teacher known for her graphic medicine work, starting with her groundbreaking graphic memoir, Dumb: Living without a Voice (Fantagraphics 2018). Georgia teaches classes and hosts a podcast under the name Drawing Health, exploring where health and creativity grow together.
