Photo Flash Writing

  • Glasgow Zine Library 636 Cathcart Road Glasgow, Scotland, G42 8AA United Kingdom (map)

This event will be held in person at Glasgow Zine Library.

Photo Flash Writing is a creative writing workshop. We’ll each be using a photograph of our own to inspire a short piece of poetry, prose-poetry, or descriptive writing. We’ll look at examples of successful ekphrastic poetry (writing based on pictures) and incorporate some effective techniques into our own work. You will also have the chance to share your writing with the group if you’d like.

This is a workshop for anyone who wants to develop their creative writing skills, regardless of your experience.

Participants should bring a pen and paper as well as a phone with plenty of your own pictures saved on it so you can choose one to focus on. Alternatively, you could bring a printed photograph.
