Programme Manager
Role: Programme Manager
Reporting to: Creative Director
Pay: £23,558 per annum (£29,448 pro rata)
Hours: 28 hours per week
Type of Contract: Permanent - PAYE
Deadline to apply: 28th September, 5pm
About the role:
Do you love working with communities to create exciting, accessible events?
We’re seeking a Programme Manager to join our team as we move into a very exciting time for the library!
The Programme Manager is responsible for the inception, delivery and further development of our Public Arts Programme (a commissioned series of events featuring paid facilitators and workshop leaders) and the Community Led Programme (a grassroots led programme of regular monthly events run by our own community).
They do this through collaborating with the library staff and current partners, as well as seeking out new audiences, to make a programme that best reflects our archive, our audience, and our ethos. Programme decisions are made in the context of those communities who make up the library, with room for expansion according to the interests and expertise of the specific programmer.
The programme is a massive part of what we do, and how people engage with us. As our Programme Manager you will be at the centre of over 100 events per year, helping guide the zine library through its goals to be a sustainable, positive force in the community. People who take part in our programme as event leaders often go on to develop their facilitation careers, while those in the audience become meaningfully involved in the life of the library through one of our other offerings.

About Glasgow Zine Library:
Glasgow Zine Library is a self-publishing library and community arts space in the south side of Glasgow. Our collection holds 3,500+ zines, which are self-published magazines usually produced by marginalised groups for creative expression, and to share experience and resources, with topics ranging from fan culture to social justice.
We aim to celebrate zine culture; uplift the experiences, practices and imaginations of marginalised creatives; resource DIY creativity; build community connection; and democratise community arts access. We do this through our year-round public arts and heritage programmes, free-to-use library, archive and arts resources, opportunities, annual festival, and volunteer programme. Our activities are pay-what-you-can and access provision includes a wheelchair accessible venue, quiet space, stim toys, masks, BSL, and captioning.
