Please note: this event will take place online and is open to people living with disability only.
Glasgow Zine Library is currently looking to commission two disabled zine-makers to create one zine each. You can find out more about how to apply to this opportunity here: https://www.glasgowzinelibrary.com/resilient-zine-community.
We want to encourage applications from those with all levels of zine-making experience, whether this will be your first zine or your thousandth! This online workshop is for people interested in applying who may not have experience making zines or filling in applications for creative opportunities.
This workshop intends to demystify the application process and get applicants feeling inspired, confident, and ready to apply. It will be led by maker River MacAskill, and will offer an introductory zine-making session and a step-by-step demonstration of how to fill in the application, with examples of River’s work, and examples of previous successful zine commission applications.
This workshop will take place online, and we recommend having the following materials to use during the session: 2 sheets of A4 white paper, 2 sheets of A4 coloured paper, felt tips or biros, scissors, glue sticks, and any collaging materials you may have. If you don’t have access to these materials we will try our best to provide them upon request.
About River:
River MacAskill is a writer and zine-maker from the north of Scotland based in Glasgow.
