Drop-In Zine Making with Highland Zine Bothy

  • The Briggait 141 Bridgegate Glasgow, Scotland, G1 5HZ United Kingdom (map)

This event will take place in Clydeside Hall at The Briggait. It is free to attend, no ticket needed.

Join the Highland Zine Bothy for a drop-in zine-making session where you can create your own mini zine from a single sheet of A4 paper.

Browse a curated selection of zines from the Highland Zine Bothy and Glasgow Zine Library collections to get inspired, then learn one or more simple one-sheet folding formats to make your very own zine.

You'll then have the chance to decorate your zine using all the provided materials – this is your time to experiment and be playful with what's on hand. If you're feeling stuck, don't worry! our facilitator is there to offer guidance where needed, and we’ll have a gumball machine full of prompts if you need inspiration. We’ll also have a badge maker on hand to make badges!

Expect a calm and crafty atmosphere where you can unwind, make, and connect with other zine-makers.

About the facilitator:

Founded in 2024, the Highland Zine Bothy is Mainland Highland's first zine library – in a bothy! The artist and volunteer-led initiative has hosted over 30 events, and houses a growing collection of over 400 zines from across the UK. Welcoming you into the session on the day will be Iona, co-founder of the Highland Zine Bothy, an Island-born Highland-based zinester with five years of experience in arts facilitation and over a decade in the zine community.
