GZF & Friends Zine Launch + R.AGGS

  • Centre for Contemporary Arts: CREATIVE LAB 350 Sauchiehall Street Glasgow, Scotland, G2 3JD United Kingdom (map)

Join us to launch an array of amazing new zines emerging from the Glasgow Zine Fest community over the past year. We'll finish the night on a high with an intimate gig from R.AGGS, the solo project of total virtuoso and modern guitar hero Ray Aggs (Sacred Paws, Trash Kit and Shopping). Expect readings, conversations and a ‘show and tell’, followed by irresistible rhythms with distinctive post punk and high life influences.

G*NDERSHIT / PARTYSCAPE

G*NDERSHIT is a collective of four illustrators raising money for trans mutual aid funds. Our annual zines are made up of submissions from Scottish-based queer artists and writers, with a particular focus on trans contributions. Each zine's topic explores a different space through a queer lens - issues 1 and 2 were themed around toilets and cyberspace, and our new issue PARTYSCAPE revolves around queer nightlife and parties as spaces of discovery, lust, tension, and love.

Jason Kerley / Pip & Faces

Jason Kerley is a motion designer based in Glasgow that moonlights as an artist and zinemaker. Pip & Faces is a new zine that celebrates one of Jason's other obsessions: dice. From a collection of hundreds, Pips & Faces showcases a carefully selected mixture; from subversions of the classic 6 sided die to historical oddities and mysterious custom-made pieces from local artists.

Hels Bowie & Richard Capener / HARRY EATS ASS

HARRY EATS ASS is a zine about latrinalia, featuring a short introduction to latrinalia by the editors, and a selection of photos of toilet graffiti from around Glasgow.

NEON BOOK CLUB / Zine N.1

NEON BOOK CLUB Zine N.1 is the first publication by NEON BOOK CLUB. It is a compilation of short stories, essays, poetry, visual art, translation and reading performance from the book club community. NEON BOOK CLUB is a Tokyo-based community of book lovers who come together in an intimate space to discuss, listen, and perform. Founded in 2022, the regular bilingual book club events take up books related to feminism, queer sci-fi, contemporary art etc. The book club has collaborated with exhibitions at galleries such as Datsuijo and Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
