Please note: this event will be held in person.
Jihae Choe will guide you through the process of turning your own hand-drawn letters into a working digital typeface.
Your hand drawings will be transformed into digital letterforms that can be typed with directly. Using the typefaces created during the workshop, you will experiment with words, spacing and composition, exploring the shift from hand-made marks to digital typography.
To bring everything together, the group will collaboratively create a zine using the fonts made during the session. The zine will be designed and printed on site, and each participant will leave with a copy of the finished publication.
Unsure what to pay for Pay-What-You-Can events? Find our guide here.
Please note: we can only issue refunds requested 72 hours before the workshop begins.
About Jihae:
Jihae is a London/Seoul based typographic designer exploring language, participation, and collective making. She is interested in how meaning is shaped not only through words, but through the ways we read, make, and share them. Through typography and participatory projects, her practice explores how design can create spaces for connection and bring people into the creative process.
