Zine Scavenging

  • Glasgow Zine Library 32-34 Albert Road Glasgow, Scotland, G42 8DN United Kingdom (map)

Please note: this event will be held in person.

Ever made a zine from an old polaroid camera? How about from a plastic bag? In this hands-on workshop focused on recycling and reusing, you'll learn to see the possibility of how the things you might throw away can be turned into an unusual zine! Using found objects, and the wealth of material at Glasgow Zine Library, you'll scavenge everything from old fabric to plastic bottles, and repurpose them for your own unique entry into radical self-publishing. The zines in this workshop can be made on any topic, but we'll have related prompts based on the climate crisis and community action for you to use on the day.

No previous zine-making experience necessary, and all materials will be provided - though we heavily encourage you to bring your own, such as:

Cardboard

Plastic packaging

Toilet rolls

Phone cases

Paper bags

Plastic bottles

Paper cups

etc.

Unsure what to pay for Pay-What-You-Can events? Find our guide here.

Please note: we can only issue refunds requested 72 hours before the workshop begins.
