DIY Tetrapack Printmaking

  • The Hidden Gardens (via Tramway) 25A Albert Drive Glasgow, Scotland, G41 2PE United Kingdom (map)

Please note: this is a free drop in event, no ticket needed. It will take place in The Hidden Gardens Medicinal Courtyard.

Learn the art of drypoint etching using old juice cartons and a pasta maker as a printing press. No experience required, just a dose of curiosity and enthusiasm!

Once you've learned it, it's something you can do yourself at home. Compared to traditional etching processes that require access to a press and the use of copper and other pricey metals, it’s easy and super low-cost, using discarded materials like old plant milk and juice cartons. A whole printmaking world can suddenly open up!

About the facilitator:

Lindsay Grime is an illustrator and artist based in the Southside of Glasgow. She works on a diverse range of projects, from public art, murals, and festival decor to ceramic jewellery and subvertising for the likes of Brandalism. She loves when activism and art align – notably while working on illustrations for clients in the fields of social and climate justice. Most of all, Lindsay revels in the diversity of her practice and the possibility it provides to express a feminist, nature-centred, anti-capitalist worldview.
