Fruiting Bodies

  • Tramway 25A Albert Drive Glasgow, Scotland, G41 2PE United Kingdom (map)

Please note: this is a free drop in event, no ticket needed. It will take place in Tramway 4.

A rolling programme of screenings and audio material, sharing knowledge from academics, activists and artists engaged in climate and social justice, including new work emerging from GZL’s year round programme. Think mushrooms sprouting from their mycelial network.

We’ll be showcasing DIY films, animations & sound works that document resistance, care, and creativity in the face of crisis.

Featuring:

  • A short doc from Highlands & Islands Climate Hub around combating the climate emergency in the Highlands & Islands.

  • Mini documentaries from the DOCMA DIY Film course, exploring the cost of living crisis through personal and political lenses.

  • Animations made by members of our DIY Animation Club.

  • Field recordings capturing changing sonic landscapes.

  • A powerful archival film from the Glasgow Housing Struggle Archive — a snapshot of Easterhouse in 1984.

  • Animation of what climate justice is according to a kid.

  • A short & sweet doc on how the Govanhill chapter of Food Not Bombs cooks up fellowship and solidarity.

  • A film about direct action in response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

  • Broadcast outcome of the Listening For Change: A Sonic Gathering event co-hosted by Dundee Radio Club, exploring the radical potential of listening as a tool for environmental awareness and action.

From past to present, these works show how people create, care, and resist — together.

CW:  Images of violence against and the killing of people in Palestine, descriptions of food scarcity, military violence, climate crisis, poverty and being unhoused
