RPGs for Building Alternative Futures

This Autumn, we’re beginning our exploration into RPGs (Role Playing Games) as tools to cultivate our collective imagination and learn how to build alternative futures together. We’re asking…

How can RPGs help us to nurture radical and boundless imaginations? How can they help us to navigate complex or difficult conversations and make decisions as a group? Can they create community around issues that are important to us? Can they help us to strategise? Do they provide the space we need to actually envision alternative futures?

We’ve partnered with Woodlands Community Anti-Racist Library to create a programme of games nights and workshops to help us to explore these questions and have fun playing and making some games in the process.

We’re building towards launching a lending library of RPG zines in the new year, alongside collaboratively creating a new decolonial RPG zine based in Glasgow.

Each session is standalone so come to whatever appeals to you, just one or all six. You can be totally new to RPGs or have played a lot. Please make sure you check the location of the events you plan to come to as some are at Glasgow Zine Library and some are at Woodlands Community Meeting Room.
